Kenny and Zuke's is the place for great New York style deli in Portland!
Located in the Dowtown Portland at the Ace Hotel on Stark. They serve Breakfast, Lunch and dinner. The space is bright and kind of industrial chic. Nice place for people watching with it's corner location.
We tried a lot of the deli meat sandwiches, but would love to come back many more times to try it all!
Pastrami and Corned Beef are made in house as are other menu entries. The Pastrami was wonderful! Nice little crispy smoky edges with great savory flavors. Corned Beef was equally great. Tender and flaky. Nice balance of flavors.
Meatloaf has wonderful texture and aroma. Nice little crunch on the outer layer with a nice blend of herbs. A single huge thick piece overflowed the edges of the Rye bread.
Potato salad or cold slaw are offered with sandwiches, were both flavorful and fresh.
Matzo ball soup and other ethnic foods are available.
The breakfast menu has home made Bagels, Latkes and egg dishes. The Fench Toast was outstanding, made with thre huge pieces of Hallah bread served with a Cinammon Butery Sweet syrup.
Huge Soda list.... Wine and Beer.
The Beer Bottle list is one of the best in Portland. A nice variety of local and national brews. I'm not talking best taps or best NW selections - A decent NW selection of taps could be found at Arby's if they served beer here.... ;-} The Bottle list is well thought out and matches with the food being served. Only 4 beers on tap currently, but a nice food relates selection of Anchor and Double Mountain brews. Also in bottles are beers from Dogfish, Victory and Anderson Valley. Not the usual Portland Bottle list, but well done!
I look forward to going back for breakfast, try other deli items and have a couple beers.

I'll have to check it out.
Thanks! I spent a lot of time with people from PortlandFood.org coming up with the list of beers. If we can find the space, I'd love to add a couple more taps some day. We only do domestic beers. I wish we could get Brooklyn Brewery out here!
